Luno Malaysia has come a long way since it’s early days in 2019. Since it’s registration with the Securities Commission Malaysia as a registered digital asset exchange; Luno has grown from it’s start with Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), and XRP (Ripple) offerings.
In 2021, Luno added Bitcoin Cash (BCH) to it’s list of crypto offering.
In June 2022, Luno further expanded its cryptocurrency offering by adding Chainlink (Link) and Uniswap (Uni) on its platform.
Hence, to-date, Luno users can trade and keep the following coins in Luno:

Is Luno Legit? Is Luno Safe?
The recent crypto crashes (e.g. Celsius and Luna) has sparked fears among crypto traders and raise questions about security in crypto. Not to be confused with Luna, Luno is totally different.
Luno is the first regulated cryptocurrency exchange in Malaysia and as mentioned earlier, it is regulated by the Securities Commission Malaysia.
Why Luno?
I wanted a safe and secure way to convert the Malaysian Ringgit from my Malaysian bank account into crypto. With Luno, I could do a bank transfer from my bank accounts, be it Maybank, Public Bank, Hong Leong Bank, CIMB Bank, Alliance Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Citibank, RHB bank, etc. Don’t worry, I don’t have that many bank accounts.
Furthermore, I needed a platform to transfer my cryptos between crypto wallets – from Luno to an external wallet. This is despite the fact that Luno offered a very limited selected of coins. I had to transfer from Luno to other wallets in order to get more and different coins not available on Luno.
